December 2 - December 13
NRSC Shadnagar Campus
Background
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in association with the European Space Agency (ESA), are jointly organising a course on Advanced SAR Technologies & Applications. This course focuses on SAR data processing, polarimetry, and interferometry. It will cover a range of applications, from terrain mapping to vegetation analysis and ocean/coastal monitoring.
Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the opportunity to:
- Learn from experts with profound knowledge in SAR processing & applications from ESA and ISRO.
- Undertake hands-on Training with SAR data to examine real-world case studies.
- Exploit SAR Applications in diverse themes like solid earth, cryosphere, agriculture, and forestry.
- Learn state-of-the-Art Techniques namely PolSAR, InSAR, PolInSAR and Tomography.
- Allow participants to network and connect with professionals and peers in the field.
Topics
The training will cover the following topics:
- Radar Interferometry
- Radar Polarimetry
- Interferometric Radar Polarimetry
- Tomography
- Applications and use cases of polarimetric, interferometric, polarimetric-interferometric, and tomographic techniques
Participation
This is a 2-week free training course conducted in-person for the benefit of the Indian SAR community. The venue of the course is at NRSC Shadnagar Campus.
A total of 30 spaces are available for Indian nationals only on first come first served basis provided duly fulfilled eligibility criteria and submission of required forms. Scientists, engineers, officials from government sectors, and academics/researchers involved in the field of microwave remote sensing (SAR) are encouraged to apply. Selection of candidates is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria, current utilization/scope of work in the domain and prior exposure to remote sensing tools will be considered.
Interested participants can apply from November 8, 2024 to November 15, 2024. Selected candidates will be notified during the week of November 22, 2024. The course will then start on December 2, 2024 and end on December 13, 2024.
