11th ESA Training Course on Earth Observation (online)

Updated 13/01/2021: In light of the developments related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the direction from the respective health authorities, the European Space Agency and the Malta Council for Science and Technology decided to turn this course into an ONLINE event which will take place from 22-26 March 2021. Applications have been opened, and the application deadline has been set for 31st January 2021.
The Training Course will be dedicated to researchers, students, PhD students and young professionals from Malta, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Lithuania and Slovakia that use EO technology within their research or work and would like to improve their knowledge of remote sensing. Applications from Malta are preferred whilst applications from ESA PECS (Plan for European Cooperating States) and ESA member states may also be considered.
The topics covered will include SAR remote sensing for land classification, as well as SAR and optical remote sensing for marine and atmospheric applications.
The hands-on exercises will demonstrate the use of the Sentinels Application Platform (SNAP) software and the Copernicus Research and User Support (RUS) Service.

Registration to the course will be free. Participation is limited and subject to a selection process.
