The BICEP project is an innovative effort to better understand the biological carbon pump in the oceans using satellite data.
By mapping the distribution of phytoplankton and other satellite-based products of different pools and fluxes of biological carbon in the surface ocean, the project seeks to improve our understanding of the role of the ocean in regulating the Earth’s climate.
