Summary
The objective is to develop and demonstrate a carbon information product for Europe to support carbon sequestration projects and carbon markets, which is in line and timely with respect to the European Green Deal and the overall effort within Europe to achieve a net-zero carbon balance by 2050. This encompasses a critical need to accurately measure and monitor nature-based credit inventory to quantify the climate mitigation outcomes.
The project will deliver a data product monitoring capability that can be used by product developers, verification bodies and project investors to quantify and independently check carbon stock change through time.
