E-coh ETAD integration in time series processing in combination with coherence tracking

UNIVERSITY OF LIEGE (BE)

Summary

The objective of the project is to implement and characterise an advanced technique using Sentinel-1 or terrain motion mapping. The technique is contributing to advanced InSAR techniques with a focus on radar coherence tracking and considering the Sentinel-1 Extended Timing Annotation Datasets (ETAD), the ESA implemented correction files based on a development by DLR that is now part of Sentinel-1 operations and available on the GEP concerning historical Sentinel-1 acquisitions. The main goals are to better characterize the benefit of coherence tracking, with its unique sensitivity in the azimuth direction, to explore the potential of the ESA originated ETAD service, and finally to enhance the multitemporal InSAR chain of CSL for precise terrain motion mapping. The SLC data coherence tracking module will be integrated in the open source tool package  called AMSTer developped by CSL and the the European Centre of Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) in Luxembourg. The ECGS and the Centre de Recherche Petrographique et Geochimique (CRPG) in France are engaged in the project as expert users and end users. A collaboration is also in place with CONAE (Argentina) as expert user. The project will explore the possibilities of integration in Cloud based processing environment to improve service and data access and increase the user base.
