The COST Action CA19109 “MedCyclones – European Network for Mediterranean Cyclones in Weather and Climate” and ESA are delighted to announce the 3rd Workshop on Mediterranean Cyclones, scheduled for 15-19 July 2024 at ESA’s ESRIN facility in Frascati, Italy.
This event aims to present cutting-edge research and developments in understanding, modelling, and monitoring Mediterranean cyclones through Earth Observation. The workshop will serve for exchanging insights, methodologies, and advancements in the field, in alignment with the ESA EO Science for Society program’s objectives.
Spanning five days, the workshop will feature three days of in-depth discussions on the latest scientific breakthroughs in the dynamics, impacts, and forecasting of Mediterranean cyclones, leveraging Earth Observation data from weather to climate scales. Additionally, a comprehensive Training School will run concurrently, offering lectures and hands-on sessions. Here, participants will engage in group analysis under the guidance of experienced tutors, culminating in presentations that stimulate discussion, foster collaboration, and enhance skillsets.
