Two more weeks to go until the end of Phase 1 – Identify a Climate Problem (4 October 2018 – 15 November) out of the three phases foreseen within the Climate Detectives school project. Following steps will be Phase 2 – Investigate the climate problem ( 10 January 2019 – 15 April 2019) and Phase 3 – Make a difference (16 April 2021 – 17 May 2019).
Addressing students between 8 and 15 years old, this curricular school project aims at promoting the teaching and learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) competences and skills, including scientific methodology, data collection, visualisation and analysis as well as improving the younger generation’s awareness and knowledge of Earth’s climate, both as a global issue and in local environments, and prepare them for the climate challenges of this century.
Inspirational resources to engage students to learn about Earth’s climate and how to monitor our planet from space are being made available to teachers during the whole project life-cycle.
