How can you use remote sensing to measure and monitor the atmosphere?
This free online course provides an introduction to remote sensing of the atmosphere. This includes topics such as climate change monitoring, assessing the atmospheric chemistry levels, monitoring air quality and supporting policy decisions, and the study of long-range atmospheric pollution transportation.
The course will contain practical examples which you can follow along, as well as theory from internationally-renowned researchers, remote sensing specialists working at European space agencies, and professors in remote sensing from across Europe.
The course also contains an additional part on the impact of the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown on air quality and climate. This part covers the results of the ESA project Impact study of COVID-19 lockdown measures on air quality and climate (ICOVAC).
