Scientific Data Exploitation Element of the Earth Observation Envelope Program (EOEP-5) aims at supporting the scientific community and value-adding companies of Alpine Member States to carry out leading edge research activities to advance the use of ESA and non-ESA EO missions towards the achievement of major scientific challenges identified by Alps community for the next decade:
- Alpine Hydrology (including soil moisture, permafrost, snow and ice/glaciers)
- Atmospheric physics (clouds, wind, temperature, precipitation, radiation, gravity waves, planetary waves) and atmospheric composition (incl. aerosol profiles, GHG emissions)
- Solid earth physics (gravity field measurement, alpine tectonics / uplift processes)
- Large-scale planetary waves (effect in atmosphere and potential link to extreme events)
