The aim of the Alps Initiative Applications element is to embed EO-derived information into pre-operational regional monitoring, assessment and planning activities.
Focus will be on:
- Risk mitigation for Geohazards and Hydromet hazards (landslides, avalanches)
- Operational hydrology & water resources management (opt. properties, catchments/runoff, drought, snow extent)
- Air quality (pollution)
- Alpine ecosystem status & reporting (biodiversity, nature protection, natural capital, NATURA 2000 reporting)
- Management of natural resources (forestry, agriculture)
