APEx – Application Propagation Environments

This activity aims to increase the uptake and reuse of EO R&D results, especially algorithms and workflows and ensure their long-term availability. To facilitate this, APEx will develop and provide dedicated services categorized as (1) instantiation services and (2) propagation services. As part of the instantiation services, APEx will provide managed and configurable working environments that cover the needs of EOP-S R&D projects (portals, dashboards, user forums, development environments, data catalogues, etc.). APEx propagation services will streamline and facilitate the persistent availability of R&D algorithms as on-demand services that are hosted in compliant (interoperable) EO platform environments and monitor their availability and functioning. Other APEx propagation services include the Algorithm Maturity Enhancement which will offer a streamlined solution for enhancing R&D algorithms in terms of computational performance. Moreover, the cloudification service will transform conventional EO toolbox software into modular, cloud-based services.
