SUMMARY:The Solid Earth: past\, present and future
DESCRIPTION:The 4D Dynamic Earth project invites university students and early career scientists (BSc\, MSc\, PhD\, ≤2 years professional experience) to a three‑day hands‑on workshop on Solid‑Earth research using satellite data. Supported by ESA and TU Delft\, the event includes expert talks\, interactive sessions\, posters\, and networking opportunities. \n  \nTopics \nExplore a range of disciplines and data types\, including: \n\nGravity data & inversions (density\, viscosity)\nElectromagnetic data & inversions (depth sensitivity\, conductivity)\nSeismic datasets: velocities\, anisotropy\, density\nGPS & InSAR mapping of deformation\nPetrology\nDynamic topography & lithospheric elastic response\nGeohazard applications.\n\n  \nWho should attend and why \nIdeal for researchers working at the intersection of geoscience\, remote sensing\, satellite data analysis\, and solid‑Earth processes. This is a prime opportunity to network\, contribute to global science\, and connect with mission teams. \nAttend to: \n\nLearn cutting‑edge methods in satellite‑based geophysics\nPresent your work to a community of experts\nJoin interactive sessions\nGain feedback\, foster collaborations\, and shape your future in ESA missions.\n\n  \n \n  \nAre you a university student or an early career scientist? \nPresent and you can get a sponsorship. \nStudents and early‑career researchers are invited to showcase their work with a poster (300‑word abstract required in registration). \nThanks to the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship up to three grants of €750 are available (€350 travel + €400 accommodation). \nTo be eligible\, presenters must: \n\nBe ≥18 years old\nBe enrolled (BSc\, MSc\, PhD) at a university in an ESA Member/Associate State or Canada\nSubmit a strong abstract tied to satellite-based solid‑Earth research\nNot hold overlapping funding\nMeet ESA’s Privacy Policy.\n\nSelection is based on abstract quality\, relevance to the 4D Dynamic Earth mission\, and satellite data usage. Recipients will be notified by end of July 2025. \n  \nRegister here by 15 July! \n  \nFind more details about the agenda on the workshop main page. \n  \n
