observation innovation  \nThe ESA Visiting Industry Professionals (VIP) Programme is an initiative that brings together industry experts and Earth Observation specialists to accelerate the adoption of EO technologies\, ensuring they address real-world challenges and deliver tangible value to end users. \nThrough workshops\, collaborative sessions\, demonstrations\, and technical exchanges hosted at ESA’s ESRIN centre\, the programme provides a platform for identifying industry requirements\, exploring innovative EO capabilities\, and fostering long-term partnerships. \nThe VIP Programme enables direct interaction between users and EO service providers\, helping to: \n\nIdentify operational needs and priorities\nValidate EO-enabled solutions\nShare best practices and lessons learned\nBuild strategic partnerships\nSupport the transition from innovation to operational use.\n\n\n  \nOrganising Committee\nESA – EARSC – IOGP \nAbout EARSC\nThe European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) is the representative body of the European Earth Observation services industry. \nEstablished to promote the development and growth of the Earth Observation sector\, EARSC brings together companies and organisations that develop and provide EO-based products\, services\, and solutions across a wide range of application domains. \nEARSC works closely with European institutions\, national space agencies\, industry partners\, and user communities to strengthen the competitiveness of the European EO sector and accelerate the uptake of Earth Observation services in operational markets. \nKey areas of activity include: \n\nSupporting the growth of the European EO services industry\nFacilitating interaction between EO service providers and user communities\nPromoting innovation and commercialisation of EO-based services\nEncouraging the adoption of EO technologies across multiple sectors\nSupporting skills development\, knowledge exchange\, and industry collaboration\nContributing to European policies and programmes related to Earth Observation\n\nWithin this workshop\, EARSC plays an important role in connecting stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem with the European EO services community\, helping participants better understand the capabilities\, maturity\, and practical applications of satellite-derived information and related geospatial technologies. \nThrough its extensive network of EO companies\, EARSC supports the identification of innovative solutions that can address operational challenges across oil and gas\, renewable energy\, carbon management\, and emerging energy sectors. \n\nAbout IOGP\nThe International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) is the global association representing the upstream oil and gas industry. \nIOGP’s members include many of the world’s leading energy companies as well as industry associations and stakeholders involved in energy production activities. The organisation works to advance safe\, responsible\, and sustainable practices through the development of guidance\, collaboration\, and the sharing of knowledge and experience. \nIOGP serves as a platform through which member companies can work together on common challenges\, including environmental performance\, health and safety\, operational efficiency\, digital transformation\, and emerging technologies. \nIn recent years\, IOGP has actively explored the potential of Earth Observation and remote sensing technologies to support industry operations\, environmental monitoring\, emissions management\, infrastructure surveillance\, emergency response\, and sustainability objectives. \nA major outcome of this work has been the development of the IOGP Remote Sensing Guidelines\, which provide practical guidance to help energy companies understand\, evaluate\, and adopt Earth Observation technologies within operational business processes. \nThe guidelines aim to: \n\nImprove awareness of EO capabilities within the energy sector\nSupport informed adoption of remote sensing technologies\nIdentify suitable industry use cases and applications\nPromote good practice for integrating EO into operational workflows\nEncourage collaboration between energy companies and EO service providers\n\nThis workshop is part of the broader effort to promote awareness\, implementation and operational uptake of the IOGP Remote Sensing Guidelines while extending the discussion to needs and opportunities across the wider energy ecosystem. \n\n  \nRegistration\nRegistration is now open.
