SUMMARY:ESA EO4Health User Forum 2024
DESCRIPTION:The European Space Agency\, in the context of EO Science for Society\, is organising the EO4Health User Forum. \nThe User Forum aims at reviewing the latest advances in the use of Earth Observation (EO) technology for global health\, exploring the potential offered by the existing and upcoming EO satellites together with advanced modelling\, in situ data and novel technologies\, as well as the main challenges and opportunities to enhance our current capacity to observe\, understand and predict health related challenges\, including its connection with environmental conditions and climate change impacts\, as well as with human activities. \nThe User Forum participants and key stakeholders will highlight global health priorities\, review the state of the art and latest developments in EO for vector borne\, water borne and non communicable diseases\, and contribute to define a joint roadmap for the coming years\, which will drive future scientific research activities of space agencies and partners to face some of the main societal challenges of our time. \nThe User Forum is open to health practitioners\, EO scientists\, researchers and students\, modellers\, Earth system and climate scientists\, industry\, operational agencies\, policy makers\, representatives of local communities and NGOs\, other stakeholders interested in sharing their knowledge and experience and in contributing to drive the scientific agenda for advancing EO and health research and future applications. \nThe workshop will be online and streamed via WebEx\, and will involve main actors and interested participants. \nThe main objectives are: \n\nIdentifying the current main challenges related to Global Health and Earth Observation at large\nDiscussing with scientists\, policy makers and industry the most pressing needs and information requirements\nProviding users and stakeholders with Earth Observation data\, resources and capabilities\n\nThis will allow to consolidate activities and define a joint roadmap for the future. \nFor more detailed information on the agenda and how to participate and interact in the workshop\, visit the dedicated site. \n
