SUMMARY:3rd ESA Training on Earth Observation 2012
DESCRIPTION:\n\nESA organised a Radar Remote Sensing training course with the University of Tartu and the Tartu Observatory on 16 – 20 April 2012\, which was addressed to participants from universities\, scientific communities\, institutions and organisations that are making use of geoinformation. The original name of the event was “Radar Remote Sensing Technology and Environmental Applications”. \nThe course provided participants with an introduction to radar remote sensing technology as well as examples of end-user applications of this technique within the environmental field. \nMore information about the course can be found on the course website \n  \nMAIN TOPICS: \n\nESA Earth Observation missions and data access\nSAR principles – fundamentals of radar remote sensing and radar processing (theory and computer practical sessions)\nPolarimetric SAR (theory and practical sessions)\nIntroduction to Radar Interferometry (theory)\nSpecific applications of SAR (theory and practical sessions)\n\nApplications in forestry\, agriculture\, biomass\nApplications to emergency mapping and disaster monitoring – example of flood monitoring\n\n\n\n  \nTEACHERS: \n\nDr. F.
