SUMMARY:Trans-Atlantic Training 2021 (TAT-8): Cloud-based Methods for Change Detection: SAR and Optical Processing
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the series of Trans-Atlantic Training (TAT) courses is to disseminate and discuss research methods and technologies from space. It is organised jointly by ESA\, NASA and the Charles University of Prague\, in close cooperation with the Regional Information Network for Southern\, Central and Eastern Europe (SCERIN). This training was the eighth in the series of TAT courses. \nThis edition was virtually hosted in Thessaloniki\, Greece\, from 1-4 June 2021\, at the premises of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). It was locally organized by the Copernicus Academy Office of AUTh\, the School of Geology and the Faculty of Engineering. \nThe programme focused on cloud processing of Earth Observation data\, including topics such as wildfires\, land classification and change\, vegetation health monitoring\, social science for forest applications\, and SAR applications to geo-hazards\, among others. \nThe course was aimed at early-career scientists and engineers as well as phD/MSc students with advanced skills and research experiences in remote sensing and/or Land Cover/Land Use. \nApplication was open to nationals of (or those living/working in) all ESA Member States. Potential participants from Central and Eastern Europe\, Baltic States\, SCERIN countries and the Mediterranean region were also particularly encouraged to apply. \nThe complete course materials and programme are accessible here below. \n \n \n  \n
