SUMMARY:Trans-Atlantic Training 2015 (TAT-3): Earth Observation in Terrestrial Ecosystem Dynamics
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the series of Trans-Atlantic Training (TAT) courses is to disseminate and discuss research methods and technologies from space. It is organised jointly by ESA\, NASA and the Charles University of Prague\, in close cooperation with the Regional Information Network for Southern\, Central and Eastern Europe (SCERIN). This training was the third in the series of TAT courses. \nThis edition was hosted by the Faculty of Sciences of the Charles University in Prague\, Czech Republic\, from 8 to 12 April 2015. \nThe contents focused on the Earth Observation (EO) techniques available to monitor terrestrial ecosystem dynamics. \nIn the program were included a wide range of topics\, among which the synergistic application of EO data\, GNSS and GIS for flood mapping\, hyperspectral data for vegetation mapping in mountain areas\,  object-based land cover classification with Very High Resolution (VHR) data\, land applications of SAR data\, permafrost and snowmelt monitoring from satellites\,  advanced methods for land cover change detection and remote sensing for phenological studies. \nA total of 29 early-career scientists and university students joined this event\, mainly from the region of Central and Eastern Europe. \nThe programme is accessible here below. \n \n
