SUMMARY:13th ESA Training Course on Earth Observation 2023 Croatia
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this training course was to train the next generation of Earth Observation scientists in Croatia and beyond.\nThis training course was organised jointly by the European Space Agency (ESA)\,  Faculty of Electrical Engineering\, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT)\, Croatia and Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia (MZO). \nThe course was hosted in-person in Osijek\, Croatia\, from September 18-22\, 2023. \n  \nContent:\nParticipants was given a hands-on overview of Earth Observation techniques utilising both optical and SAR data. The topics covered included: \n\nIntroduction to SAR remote sensing\nEO for land cover/land use\nEO for Agriculture\nEO for Forestry\nEO for Flood mapping\nOptical and SAR remote sensing for marine applications (biological and oil spill and ship detection)\n\n  \nParticipants and application:\nParticipants were expected to be MSc or early PhD students in science or engineering with an interest in remote sensing and/or the topics covered during the course. \nThe number of participants was limited\, and application was required. The course was in English. \nNote that while the course is free\, participants had to cover their own travel and accommodation costs (we recommended contacting your organisation to see if they covered this\, if the training was relevant to your work or studies). \nFemale applicants were encouraged to apply.
