SUMMARY:10th DLR/ESA open PolInSAR training course 2026
DESCRIPTION:This PolInSAR course is an online\, hands-on training programme that aims to develop an understanding of the information content of multi-parameter SAR data in an interactive way\, without assuming any prior/background knowledge – though some knowledge in Python programming is welcome. \nIt is organised into 11 sessions over 11 weeks\, with lectures and tutorials ranging from SAR image formation up to tomographic processing. In the final module\, students will be introduced to the official BIOMASS mission processor and learn how to work with it. This is the first course after BIOMASS launch! \nThe course uses the BIOMASS Mission Analysis and Algorithm Platform as a teaching and learning environment. \nParticipation is limited to a maximum number of 30 students. Preference will be given to master and PhD students with an interest in SAR data processing and limited or no access to state-of-the-art SAR training courses\, as well as to actual and potential SAR data users in the BIOMASS application domains. \nAdditional information about the training course is available HERE.\n  \n PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION HERE\n\nApplication deadline: 08 March 2026 at 24:00 CET – CLOSED\nNotification of acceptance: 24 March 2026 \nDuring the weeks 30/03–01/04 and/or 06/04–10/04\, an on-boarding session will be organised for accepted participants.
