An Internal Research Fellow (PostDoc) opportunity is currently open for applicants who have recently completed, or are close to completing, a PhD in physics, engineering, Earth system or climate science, with research experience and peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields.
During this two-year fellowship, you will contribute to cutting-edge Earth observation research within ESA’s Earth System Science Hub, advancing innovative EO methods, Earth system science and the scientific foundations of Digital Twin Earth. Research activities will focus on one or more of the following thematic priorities:
- Data-driven and AI-based Earth system simulations and predictability science
- Hydrology and water cycle research
- Terrestrial carbon and ecosystems
- Polar science and cryosphere research
- Ocean science, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean
The positions are based at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy, and offer the opportunity to work in close collaboration with leading international scientists and contribute to the scientific exploitation of current and future ESA and Copernicus missions.
