The Earth Observation for SDG Targets and Indicators, Lot-2 is the second activity initiated under the “EO for Sustainable Development Goals” line of activities of the FutureEO-1 programme.
The “EO for SDGs” line of activities consists of a series of RD projects that foster the uptake of EO solutions into national SDG monitoring frameworks, for countries to better measure and monitor progress towards the SDG Targets, report on the SDG Global Indicator Framework, and eventually put in place informed and evidence-based development policies.
The activity “Earth Observation for SDG Targets and Indicators, Lot-2” consists of 2 parallel and independent projects:
- SDG 6.6 EO Scaling Up – Global EO solutions for wetland inventories to scale up advanced and cost-effective EO solutions to automatically identify, delineate, classify and characterise the spatial extent of wetlands, and derive statistics on wetland ecosystems
- SDG 2.4 EO Scaling Up – Global EO solutions for rice monitoring to scale up advanced and cost-effective EO solutions to automatically monitor and derive relevant information on rice planted areas, rice crop growth and yield forecasts.
